itSMF Singapore Newsletter - August 2010

Hi everyone,
It has been about 6 months since our last newsletter. However, that doesn't mean that there hasn't been a lot happening - the following sections of this newsletter provide more information about what has been happening, and upcoming events.

In addition we have re-vamped the format of the newsletter to make it easier to read, with links to further information on our web-site. itSMF Singapore 2010 Conference

The itSMF SINGAPORE Conference 2010 will look at the evolution of IT Service Management in Asia based on the real-life implementation experiences of numerous companies and leading industry professionals.

The conference will be a one day event filled with keynote speeches, presentations, case studies and panel discussions around:

a) The latest news on ITIL v3 and related Service Management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 20000 and Cobit.
b) Implementations do?s & don?ts, and project benefits.
c) Global trends (IT governance, strategic sourcing, application management, measuring success, green IT, etc.).

AGM and Council Elections
In March we had the AGM and elected the new Council for 2010. The new Council consists of:

MoU between itSMF Singapore and SPMI
itSMF Singapore and SPMI have signed an MoU with the objective of providing a framework for a continuing liaison between the two organizations, particularly in relation to running joint members events. Under this MoU, members of both societies can attend the monthly members events of either society. There is also a stated intent to hold a joint annual conference in 2011. The key benefit of this MoU is that members of both societies will be able to attend a greater number of members events, with a wider variety of topics. Next Members Night, 6 September 2010 - Service Management issues in a Cloud environment
The first itSMF managed event to be run jointly with SPMI will look at the implementation and management of Cloud environments - a topic that is of increasing interest in the industry. Further information is available <here>. You can also register to attend the event at the same URL.

Appointment of new Secretariat
The itSMF Council has voted to appoint a new secretariat to manage the administrative tasks of itSMF Singapore. Enterprise Promotion Center (EPC) has been appointed as the new secretariat, and their services will commence from 1st August 2010. The Council believes that this will change will address many of the administrative issues that we have faced in the past. The itSMF web site will be updated with the contact details of the new secretariat.
