Topic: 1. Be Prepared for Certification, the Next Move in ITIL!

Governance and best practice continue to be the hot topics on today’s business agenda. In just 1 hour, Don will provide you with a new level of understanding around this very hot topic!  Decide for yourself if your organization needs this certification!  Hear from the international expert and co-author on BS 15000 on the benefits and roadmap for obtaining organizational certification.  Don will provide you with up to date information on BS15000, ISO20000 and ITIL 3 refresher.   Compliance and Certification will be the name of the game – rather than just conformance with ITIL best practice.   IT departments are under consistent pressure to demonstrate their prowess in project and portfolio management, operations and service delivery.  Building on from ITIL, ISO20000 is set to change the way IT departments and service providers deliver IT Services…under a common framework and audited by an external party, the bar will be raised on professionalism and business expectations.

Topic 2. The Outsourcing Debate – Can ITIL Really Work in an Outsourced Environment?

Large scale outsourcing has been a trend in Asia for almost 10 years now and has generally failed to deliver the expected results.   The IT industry has now decided that strategic or selective sourcing of non-strategic functions will fulfill the promise that single vendor sourcing failed to provide.   Would ITIL based practices enable more success?  Does ITIL have a role in the new 'strategic sourcing' model?  Is ITIL in these environments a complex recipe for disaster?  Whether you are a service provider, a service manager or contemplating your organisations next strategic move, this presentation will provide some insights into successful IT outsourcing and provide some practical guidance to help you achieve a successful outcome.
